My Client is currently looking for an experience SHE Advisor for a 6 months contract in the Sussex, Kent area

About the Role

Our client, who is working on a joint venture, is seeking an experienced Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to support CMDP, a Southern Water Joint Venture. Based throughout the Southern Water region, primarily in Sussex and Kent, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and contribute to the development of the regional safety strategy.

As a SHE Advisor, you will report directly to the Head of SHEQ and will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting regional management teams in compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Implementing HSE guidance and best practices.
  • Conducting systematic audits and inspections of construction sites, offices, and other workplaces.
  • Investigating accidents and incidents to identify root causes and propose improvements.
  • Assisting with risk assessments and safety-related documentation.
  • Liaising with clients, HSE Inspectors, and external assessors.

About You

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in health and safety within the Water Treatment or Construction industry.
  • Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK.
  • Familiarity with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001 (or similar management systems).
  • Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate).
  • Possession of a CSCS card or affiliated scheme (SHEA Water).
